UTA WAYU MPC Union was established in 1998 E.C. (2005/2006 G.C.) in Shashemene, West Arsi Zone, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. Our mission is to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers by providing modern agricultural technologies, value-adding agro-processing services, affordable credit facilities, reliable market information, and direct market linkages both domestically and internationally.

Aman Gobena serves as the Board Chairman of Uta Wayu Multipurpose Farmers’ Cooperative Union, providing strategic oversight and governance to ensure the Union fulfills its mission. With a focus on transparency, accountability, and the long-term interests of member farmers, he leads the Board in setting high-level policies and guiding the organization’s growth. Aman is dedicated to fostering a strong, cooperative-led economy that empowers rural communities and promotes agricultural excellence.
Gutema Bedane is a dedicated leader in agricultural cooperative management with a focus on strategic growth and community empowerment. As General Manager, he oversees the Union’s operations, driving initiatives that connect local farmers to sustainable markets and essential resources. Gutema is committed to modernizing the cooperative’s value chain and ensuring long-term economic prosperity for all its members.
Degu Shewaye manages the financial operations and fiscal health of Uta Wayu Union. He specializes in strategic budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure the Union's long-term sustainability and transparency for its members.
Furiyo Hirpo leads the Human Resources department at Uta Wayu Union, overseeing talent management, employee relations, and organizational development. He is dedicated to building a high-performing team and fostering a professional work environment that supports the Union’s mission and the growth of its staff.
A specialist in agricultural technology who spearheads the modernization of farming practices for the Union. He focuses on integrating advanced machinery and technical solutions to streamline operations, increase harvest efficiency, and ensure member farmers have access to the tools necessary for large-scale, productive farming.
She manages the distribution and supply chain of essential farming resources, including high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and crop protection products. By ensuring the timely availability of these inputs, she plays a critical role in enhancing crop yields and supporting the seasonal success of all member farmers within the Union.
Habib Ushi Boka provides independent oversight and evaluation of the Union’s financial and operational processes. By ensuring strict compliance with regulations and internal policies, he maintains the integrity of the organization’s systems, mitigates risks, and safeguards the assets of members.
Abiyo manages all legal affairs and regulatory compliance for the Union. He provides expert counsel on contracts, governance, and dispute resolution, ensuring the organization’s operations are legally sound and the rights of its member farmers are fully protected.
